Feel-good update: 7 of our 11 candidates won last week!
The news the last week has been particularly bleak. Here are a few bright spots for you…
The news the last week has been particularly bleak. Here are a few bright spots for you…
THE WINNERS: 7 of our 11 Run for Something candidates on the ballot last week WON — and one more moved on to a run-off. Congrats to:
Lindsy Judd, Washoe County Commission, district 5 (Nevada)

Howard Watts III, Nevada state assembly, district 15

Chloe Maxmin, Maine House of Representatives, district 5

Canek Aguirre, Mo Seifeldein, and Elizabeth Bennett-Parker, candidates for Alexandria City Council — this was a 12-person primary in which the top 6 moved on. Our three candidates took out two incumbents, and Elizabeth actually came in first!

Caleb Frostman, WI state senate, district 1 — this was a special election Scott Walker tried to cancel because he was afraid of this exact outcome. Trump won this district by 18 points (and Walker won it by 23 points in 2014).

We’ve got a few folks on the ballot tomorrow, and more than a dozen the week after. The fun never ends.
A few other things to make you smile…
— This Saturday, we’re partnering with a coalition of groups led by GenProgress for the next stop of our college tour at Columbus State Community College in Ohio. So exciting.
— In honor of pride month, NowThis put together an incredible video of LGBTQ candidates across the country, including RFS candidate Brianna Titone for Colorado state house, district 27.
— In Maryland, early voting has begun ahead of the primaries next week. This tweet from Hiruy Hadgu made us happy.
Two events coming up: We’ll be in Miami on June 29th and the Hamptons on July 21st. Don’t miss the good times.
Thanks for making all this possible. We’re so lucky to do this work with you.
Catch up with last week’s feel-good update…
