Hi all -
Hope you had a good holiday week!! Run for Something was off for a breather so this is one of our quicker emails in a while…
(ICYMI: Last week’s update was a mid-year check-in on all our stats. Catch up if your OOO got the news instead of you!)
This week as we’re catching up from the break, just some alum/building-that-bench news:
Keith Potts is running for U.S. Senate in Indiana! He won a seat on the Indianapolis City Council in 2019, beating a Republican incumbent by 60%. If he wins, he’ll be the first openly gay man elected to the U.S. Senate.
Former MT Rep. Danny Tenenbaum is now running for MT state senate.
Joe Vogel’s campaign to be the next Gen Z member of Congress is picking up steam. (And fun fact, he’s running against another RFS alum, MD Del. Lesley Lopez — we’re everywhere!)
Another alum vs alum contest for higher office - CO Rep. Lindsey Daugherty and Westminster City Councilmember Obi Ozeadi are both running for CO state senate.
And another: Ayesha Wilson and Jivan Sobrinho-Wheeler are both in the running for Cambridge city council.

Finally, some RFS events coming up you might be excited about:
This Wednesday, July 12th, 5pm CT, 100% free, in Chicago: Ready, Set, Run at Netroots Nation — there will also be a dozen members of the RFS team at Netroots, so if you’re there, find one of the team members and say hi!!
On July 19th, we’re partnering up with the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center and the Democracy Policy Network to host a virtual summit on progressive state strategies & policies. Don’t miss it - 100% free.
Saturday, August 12th: We’re hosting a small get-together in Southampton, NY. If you’re in town, reply to this email and I’ll send you details!
Back to work, let’s go! Thanks for making it possible.
