Hi all -

In other RFS community updates:
In Maricopa County, it’s RFS candidate Julie Gunnigle versus Rachel Mitchell, the Republican attorney who led the questioning against Dr. Blasey Ford during the Kavanaugh hearings and who’s promised to prosecute abortion in given the chance.
Small towns & suburbs are working to protect abortion access — Denton City Councilmember (and RFS alum!) Alison Maguire is showing how it’s done.
In an effort to correct the public records about crisis pregnancy centers, State Sen. Becca Rausch secured the funding to require the MA Dept of Public Health to maintain an (opt-in) list of abortion clinics.
This is such a great profile of NYC Councilmember Chi Osse and how he’s bringing joy, activism, and rigor to his leadership.
RI Rep. Brandon Potter has led on legislation to provide incentives for early-childhood education.
In related reading (or listening): What happens in a red state does not stay in a red state!! The NYT had a long convo about why “your blue state won’t save you.”
As we inch closer to Labor Day and the final push through to Election Day, we wanted to give you a few different slates of Run for Something candidates you could support. Pick one (or all 5!) and make a donation split many ways among the present & future leaders of our democracy. (None of these catch your eye? Check the candidate directory to find someone who inspires you!)
Keeping it short this week because we’re go-go-go-ing — thanks for making all this possible!
